Evaluation Services

At Academic Evaluation Services, Inc. we analyze foreign academic and professional credentials to establish the equivalent degree, credits or years of study that would be awarded in the U.S. educational system, at different levels of education. Among others, an evaluation is generally required for the following uses:

· Academic Study

· General Employment

· Immigration Purposes

· Military Service

· Professional Licensing

An evaluation indicates the foreign document(s) submitted, the years of study, the date when the document(s) was/were issued, the degree(s)/title(s) obtained, and establishes a comparison to the equivalent studies/degree(s) in the U.S. education system.

Due to the differences between U.S. and foreign education systems, the evaluations do not necessarily equal the same number of credits, years of study, grades and degrees/titles granted in the original country.

 

Types of Evaluations

General Evaluation (high school/secondary education level and higher education/university level documents)

• Establishes the equivalent US degree or years of study; does NOT include a course-by-course analysis nor a grade-point-average (GPA);
  
  
• it is usually required for immigration, employment, military service, and for admission to community colleges or universities when a grade-point-average (GPA) is not requested;
  
  
• client receives two original copies of the evaluation;
  
  
• cost: US$75.00 (includes a $50.00 non-refundable fee);

• documents required:
  
  
• our application form;
  
  
• official transcripts, mailed directly to us from the institution(s) that you attended;
  
  
• a certified English translation for each academic document (unless you are requesting us to translate the document, for which we will require an additional fee). Translations submitted with documents to be evaluated must be performed by foreign nationals certified as translators in the country of origin or by individuals certified as translators in the United States;
  
  
• pre-payment of our evaluation and/or translation fee(s); no services will be provided until fees paid by personal check are cleared by the bank.

Grade Evaluation (high school/secondary education level documents ONLY)

• Establishes the equivalent US degree or years of study for high school or secondary school documents ONLY plus the grade-point-average (GPA);
  
  
• it is usually required for admission to an associate degree program or to a bachelor’s degree program when the institution requests to know the grade-point-average (GPA);
  
  
• client receives two original copies of the evaluation;
  
  
• cost: US$130.00 (includes a $50.00 non-refundable fee);
  
  
• documents required:

• our application form;
  
  
• official transcripts, mailed directly to us from the institution(s) that you attended;
  
  
• a certified English translation for each academic document (unless you are requesting us to translate the document, for which we will require an additional fee). Translations submitted with documents to be evaluated must be performed by foreign nationals certified as translators in the country of origin or by individuals certified as translators in the United States;
  
  
• pre-payment of our evaluation and/or translation fee(s); no services will be provided until fees paid by personal check are cleared by the bank.

Comprehensive Evaluation (higher education/university level documents)

• Establishes the equivalent US degree or years of study plus a course-by-course analysis including credits, grades and grade-point-average (GPA); courses follow original transcript order
  
  
• it is usually required for admission to bachelor’s degree program, master’s degree program or to a doctoral degree program. Credits earned may be transferred into a US degree program at the discretion of the institution to which you are applying for admission;
  
  
• client receives two original copies of the evaluation;
  
  
• cost: US$185.00 (includes a $50.00 non-refundable fee);

• documents required:
• our application form;
  
  
• official transcripts, mailed directly to us from the institution(s) that you attended;


• a certified English translation for each academic document (unless you are requesting us to translate the document, for which we will require an additional fee). Translations submitted with documents to be evaluated must be performed by foreign nationals certified as translators in the country of origin or by individuals certified as translators in the United States;


• pre-payment of our evaluation and/or translation fee(s); no services will be provided until fees paid by personal check are cleared by the bank.
  

Comprehensive Evaluation (for Professional Boards - higher education/university level documents ONLY)

• Establishes the equivalent US degree or years of study plus a course-by-course analysis including credits, grades and grade-point-average; whenever possible, courses are organized by fields of study
  
  
• required for professional licensing boards such as teacher certification;


• client receives two original copies of the evaluation;
  
  
• cost: US$200.00 (includes a $50.00 non-refundable fee);

• documents required:

• our application form;
  
  
• official transcripts, mailed directly to us from the institution(s) that you attended;
  
  
• a certified English translation for each academic document (unless you are requesting us to translate the document, for which we will require an additional fee). Translations submitted with documents to be evaluated must be performed by foreign nationals certified as translators in the country of origin or by individuals certified as translators in the United States;
  
  
• pre-payment of our evaluation and/or translation fee(s); no services will be provided until fees paid by personal check are cleared by the bank.

If you are not sure which evaluation to choose, please contact the institution/agency to receive the evaluation/translation. They should be able to tell you which evaluation you need.

Translation Services

We accept documents either as part of an evaluation or as a separate service. Our goal is to offer our clients professional high quality translation services at a price they can afford.

Translations must be provided by individuals whose credentials include one of the categories below:

· ATA member in good standing with evidence of having passed the required ATA exams (must be attached to the translation)

· foreign national certified as a translator in the country of origin

· individual certified as a translator in the United States (ATA/Court Exams, etc.)

· reputable international education professional recognized as an expert in the field
Translation for all languages is $50.00 per page.
